Žalgiris Arena on Nemunas Island in Kaunas

In short: January and February 2027 bring at least ten big nights to Kaunas. Vagelis, Natalija Bunkė, ADRINA and Justinas Jarutis with a symphony orchestra all play Žalgiris Arena, which also hosts the M.A.M.A. music awards and the KMT basketball cup Final Four. The Kaunas Philharmonic has Neapolitan tenors and an Adele evening, and Kaunas Sports Hall a Radži anniversary show.

After a festive December, Kaunas doesn’t switch off. In midwinter the halls fill with people who bought their tickets back in autumn, while the city itself is quiet after the show – snow, streetlights and cafés still open on Laisvės alėja. Below are all confirmed dates with times and venues, followed by where to stay so you don’t have to race for the last train after the encore.

January: from tenors to the M.A.M.A. awards

  • Thu 14 January, 18:30 – “Canto Italiano. Three Neapolitan Tenors”, Kaunas Philharmonic (E. Ožeškienės g. 12).
  • Sat 16 January, 20:00 – D. Klajumas and J. Jankevičius, “Sudeginti tiltai 2: Imtynės”, Žalgiris Arena. A Lithuanian-language comedy show on an arena scale.
  • Sat 23 January, 20:00 – Vagelis, “Aikštelė”, Žalgiris Arena.
  • Fri 29 January, 19:00 – M.A.M.A. 2026 music awards, Žalgiris Arena – the one night when most of Lithuanian pop shares a single stage.

The Philharmonic concert starts earlier than the arena shows, leaving time for an unhurried dinner on Laisvės alėja afterwards. The Saturday arena dates make natural weekend trips: arrive on Friday or Saturday, leave on Sunday.

February: Valentine’s weekend and a double Friday

  • Fri 5 February, 20:00 – Natalija Bunkė, “Gimtadienis”, Žalgiris Arena.
  • Sat 6 February, 17:00 – “The Most Beautiful Songs of ADELE”, performed by Natalie Anne Black, Kaunas Philharmonic.
  • Wed 10 February, 19:00 – musical drama “Emilija”, Žalgiris Arena.
  • Sat 13 February, 20:00 – ADRINA, Žalgiris Arena.
  • 20–21 February, 15:00 – Citadele KMT Final Four (King Mindaugas Cup), Žalgiris Arena. One ticket covers both days: semi-finals on Saturday, the final on Sunday.
  • Fri 26 February, 19:00 – Radži, “40!”, Kaunas Sports Hall (Perkūno al. 5).
  • Fri 26 February, 20:00 – Justinas Jarutis with a symphony orchestra, Žalgiris Arena.

ADRINA on 13 February lands right on Valentine’s weekend – a good excuse for a couple to come for two nights rather than one evening. Ideas for the second day are in our romantic weekend in Kaunas guide. 26 February is a rare night with two big concerts at the same time in different parts of the city, so book taxis and dinner tables ahead. 16 February, Lithuania’s Statehood Restoration Day, falls on a Tuesday this year.

Basketball: Žalgiris at home

Through January and February the arena also hosts Žalgiris EuroLeague and LKL home games, and some weekends overlap with concerts – check the official Žalgiris schedule before you plan. How to build a basketball weekend around a game is covered in a Žalgiris game weekend in Kaunas.

Why stay the night

In winter, a concert that starts at 20:00 ends with encores around 22:00–23:00. Thousands of people then walk out into the cold at once, taxis take longer to arrive, and the drive to another city starts after midnight, often on slippery roads. A night in Kaunas turns the evening into a small break: one more glass of wine after the show, a slow morning and breakfast in the Old Town.

Where to stay after the concert

On a winter concert night what matters most is a bed close by that doesn’t depend on a reception desk. All three MyKaunas stays have self check-in, so you can settle in before the show or arrive after it.

For couples, the best fit is Underground Kingdom Boutique – four rooms in the brick vaults of a 1908 building, where Laisvės alėja meets Vilniaus gatvė. The Philharmonic is a few steps away and Žalgiris Arena a few minutes on foot. The rooms sit below street level with no windows, so after a loud night it is as quiet as anywhere in the centre; each has its own shower and WC.

Groups of up to five are better off in Picturesque Old Town Apartment, with a balcony over a cobbled Old Town street, and families or friends who want more space in Old Town Pearl Suite near Kaunas Castle. More on staying near the arena in where to stay for Žalgiris Arena events.

What comes next

If you are planning a later trip, March will be busier still: Kaziuko mugė, the traditional spring crafts fair, takes place in early March, and Žalgiris Arena has already listed Plácido Domingo and José Carreras (15 March) and Martynas Kavaliauskas’s show “03:19” (19 March). The city’s upcoming events are collected in events in Kaunas, and the end-of-year arena shows in Žalgiris Arena concerts, November–December.

Got your ticket? Then only one question is left – where to sleep after the show. Secure the room straight away: on big weekend concert nights free rooms in the centre are the first to go.
