Kaunas Žalgiris Arena has 17 concerts, two holiday shows and five EuroLeague home games scheduled for November and December. The highlights include Pitbull on 30 November and the SEL 50 anniversary concert on 12 December. For anyone travelling from another city, the ticket is only half of the plan: on big event nights, free rooms in the centre run out and prices go up.

Why stay the night
When a concert ends, thousands of people leave the arena at the same time. Taxis become more expensive and harder to get, and the drive home to another city starts well after midnight. Staying in Kaunas lets you have a late dinner after the show and travel back the next day without rushing.
The evening in town
The city centre is within walking distance of the arena. Laisvės alėja, the main pedestrian boulevard, is lined with cafés and restaurants, some of them open late. It leads to Vilniaus gatvė and Town Hall Square in the Old Town. The Kaunas Christmas tree on Town Hall Square is traditionally lit in late November or early December, so December concert-goers will see it. If you stay longer, walk on to Santaka Park and Kaunas Castle.
Where to stay
MyKaunas stays are in the city centre and the Old Town, a short walk from the arena and the evening city.

Booking direct at mykaunas.com costs less than on Booking.com or Airbnb. On big concert dates, it is worth securing your room as soon as you have your ticket.
